Adventures of a Trail Stooge follows The Esteemed Stooge, Sir Charles Guilons on his thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. Starting atop Springer Mountain in Georgia, Sir Stooge makes his way over 2,000 miles of earth to summit the beautifully lonesome Mount Katahdin in Maine. Along the way, he meets some great friends: Tangy, Indy, Munchies, Scratch, Trucker, and many others. He sees amazing places along the tract of land affectionately called the AT. He struggles, both physically, mentally, and spiritually as he tries to decipher the trail and the ideas that swirl in the framework of his mind. Through the laughs, celebrations, struggles, and pain, he learns some things about himself, and the thing we collectively call life.
Using his journal entries as the basis of the text, Sir Stooge enhances the gritty, emotional entries with post-trail commentary. The coupling of the raw entry with the commentary creates a complete picture of life on the trail. Through more than fifty entries, Sir Stooge grants the reader insight into life on the trail--physically, mentally, and spiritually.
