Tic disorder means sudden, repeated and unintentional convulsion-like twitches or vocal symptoms of the same muscle or muscle group. It is important that the movements and sounds are discharging, repetitive and arrhythmic, and that the symptoms are unintentional. Prolonged (over 2 months) tics require consultation with a child psychiatrist.
