The Camino Ingles: 6 days (or less) to Santiago

by Susan Jagannath

Do you think you are too old, too young, or not fit enough for an adventure?
Banish that thought!
Do you want to trek the famous 500 mile/800 km Camino Frances in Spain, but don’t have 30+ days for that trek? Or are you terrified of the required fitness, research, and planning?
The Camino Ingles is the answer!
Walking the Camino was a goal of mine last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. I had never even walked five miles, I’m not a gym junkie but I wanted to walk the Camino to prove to myself that I could achieve a goal. But, I didn’t have the time for 500 miles, then, I heard of the Camino Ingles. The shorter time and distance of the Camino Ingles was the clincher, and I set out on a quieter, less travelled and less well documented walk through Spain. And to my surprise, I succeeded.
This book helps you to set a practical goal and achieve it, by showing you exactly how to:
Walk the Camino Ingles, an ancient route as old as the Camino FrancesPrepare your mind, body and feet to enjoy the long walkPack and what to discard to travel lightPlan your travel and arrival in Spain in the shortest timeDecide on strategies to overcome obstaclesFind the medieval way posts for an authentic experienceWhat to eat and where to eat it to enjoy the food of SpainBook, or not book your bed for a good nights’ restGet your Compostela in SantiagoFind more information if you really want it
Follow this book to complete a real pilgrimage trek in only 6 days, there is enough detail to guide you each day. Go on, what’s stopping you? It's only one step at a time!

Letters from Uncle Stan: The Correspondence of a Misanthrope in Spain

by Stan Steventon

FROM THE FOREWORD BY MILLIE STEVENTON

My Uncle Stan was a grumpy man when he began to write to me from Spain back in the year 2009 and he can’t be said to have mellowed much with age. This book contains only his letters to me, as his old-school habit of always referring to my missives removes the need to include my supportive, and sometimes censorious, replies which possess little of the descriptive power and mostly unintentional humour of his own copious correspondence.
In a way I suppose that in the last few years I have been his only constant and empathic contact with the rest of humanity and this first volume is a testament to his fierce and unremitting determination to stay afloat in a world that has done its utmost to thwart his every desire. Uncle Stan is a little older and wiser now and, much to my surprise, was happy for me to edit and publish his unwitting literary achievement. Without further ado, I leave you with the complete, unabridged letters of Mr. Stanley Steventon, May 2009 – May 2010.

Madrid, Lisbon and Barcelona

by Tony Pow

This book describes my travel in March, 2019 in Spain and Portugal. We stayed in Madrid for several days, took a tour and then flew to Barcelona. This book does not replace any travel book. However, it could be the end of all travel books as the most updated info can be found free in the internet as described here. This book includes how we find this useful info free of charge from sources such as Wikipedia, TripAdvisor and YouTube. It has many photos during my travel However, I also include my personal experiences. This book also helps you to plan your trips and to avoid many mistakes I made from the article On Travel. I saved money by extending my vacation on side trips on my way back. Usually my stopover on my way flying back are my side trips such as Ireland from flying back from Europe. Madrid and Barcelona are my side trips for this trip. Basically, you can do a lot of research from the internet before you go. Use TripAdvisor and learn from others’ experiences. Many restaurants change hand or close every year, so ensure the information is up-to-date. Check out the latest offers from the web of the cities you plan to visit. Check out the climate on the days you plan to visit.Initial date: 03/18/2019;Size (9*6): 180 pages
