The Camino Ingles: 6 days (or less) to Santiago

by Susan Jagannath

Do you think you are too old, too young, or not fit enough for an adventure?
Banish that thought!
Do you want to trek the famous 500 mile/800 km Camino Frances in Spain, but don’t have 30+ days for that trek? Or are you terrified of the required fitness, research, and planning?
The Camino Ingles is the answer!
Walking the Camino was a goal of mine last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. I had never even walked five miles, I’m not a gym junkie but I wanted to walk the Camino to prove to myself that I could achieve a goal. But, I didn’t have the time for 500 miles, then, I heard of the Camino Ingles. The shorter time and distance of the Camino Ingles was the clincher, and I set out on a quieter, less travelled and less well documented walk through Spain. And to my surprise, I succeeded.
This book helps you to set a practical goal and achieve it, by showing you exactly how to:
Walk the Camino Ingles, an ancient route as old as the Camino FrancesPrepare your mind, body and feet to enjoy the long walkPack and what to discard to travel lightPlan your travel and arrival in Spain in the shortest timeDecide on strategies to overcome obstaclesFind the medieval way posts for an authentic experienceWhat to eat and where to eat it to enjoy the food of SpainBook, or not book your bed for a good nights’ restGet your Compostela in SantiagoFind more information if you really want it
Follow this book to complete a real pilgrimage trek in only 6 days, there is enough detail to guide you each day. Go on, what’s stopping you? It's only one step at a time!

How to win the Premier League: On a Shoestring

by Ash Nehmet

A few wealthy clubs dominate the English Premier League and almost lockout every other club from the top slots. But what if your mid-to-low level club was to power it’s way to the top, without the help of untold riches. What if less-wealthy clubs made a habit of overcoming their disadvantages and regularly winning the league. You might think this is almost impossible. And you might be right unless you and many others read this book. This book outlines several strategies which could help propel your club to the top. Also rule changes which would make it more difficult to ‘buy’ the league, therefore making it fairer and tilting it back towards the majority. We might then have frequent ‘Leicester City’ type of events and a completely unpredictable top five every year. The book is a short read; you could finish it in a couple of hours. To reduce the book buyer feeling short-changed, I have included the first chapter of my forthcoming (in late 2018) book called “Ministry of AfterDeath” as bonus material. - Ash Nehmet

The Ball Buster Kid: A Book of Revelations

by Lulu Galah

I am a ghost writer. In life, my relationship with the Boston community was damaged by a long-running feud between me and much of the Boston media. The newspapermen didn’t make my life any easier, but I didn’t help myself with my legendary stubbornness. The same mind that ensured I could remember a pitch that struck me out three months before was not going to forget any slights inflicted by a hostile press.I was a driven, obsessed young man. I thought the weight of the damn world was always on my neck, grinding on me. I wanted to be the greatest hitter who ever lived. Nobody ever worked harder at hitting. Hitting a baseball was at the core of my existence. My whole life was hitting.Hitting is a correction thing. Every swing you're changing. Every thought you're correcting. Every time up, you're thinking. If I was battling a slump, I stayed up all night thinking about what to change. Before he died, Charley Lau ranked me as the greatest hitter in baseball history. You could look it up.I have always thought of baseball as the best of all games: the most interesting, the most demanding, the most rewarding. I cannot begin to express the gratification I have felt in being part of the game of baseball with such a wonderful flavor and spirit. The game I love has produced such superb champions and attractive personalities as Merkle, Young, Stivetts, Arlington, Jackson, Wambsganss, Evers, Stengel, Piersall, Berra, Martin, Hobbs, McAvoy, and Al the Boss Angel. Wherever I traveled at home or abroad, I found baseball to be a universal language. I enjoyed every moment spent in baseball—above all the many wonderful friends I have made. I loved playing baseball more than anything else in my life. The prospect that there was going to be baseball in my day made me feel privileged and extremely happy. I could not wait for the sun to rise so I could get to the ballpark again.Open Access PolicyYou are free to share, copy, or redistribute the materials in this text in any medium or format. Four Four Two: The Ultimate Football

by Jons Danny

It’s been a helluva year for Australian football and the rollercoaster ride is far fromfinished now. But it’s not all doom and gloom...A-League crowd and TV ratings might be disappointing this year – but at the halfwaystage, the action is not. Sydney are just sensational to watch... and if they can hold thisside together to the end of the calendar year, our prediction of the treble at the start ofthe season might even be pessimistic. They will go into the Asian Champions Leaguefielding easily the strongest side the A-League has ever offered up to face Asia’s best.Where they end up will be a real test of just how good the A-League can be on thecontinental stage. If they can sustain their domestic form though, a finals appearancemust surely be a realistic target – and from there a potential Club World Cup spot andall that might bring. (Having now cursed them with this praise, they will probably crashand burn and get kicked out at the group stage. Sorry about that!)Elsewhere Newcastle Jets are an absolute joy to watch – perhaps even better thantheir Championship-winning heyday with Nicky Carle and Milton Rodriguez. Ernie Merrickhas done a brilliant job in not just re-inventing the Hunter side, but himself too (or atleast, our perceptions of him and his coaching style.) The Mariners continue to improveand are not far off being genuine contenders by playing exciting football, while Adelaidehave come to grips with their new gaffer, new signings and a glut of injuries.Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers look like they might finally begetting their act together after a troubled start to the season, but it’s come too late forWSW to salvage much from this campaign, you’d think. As a result, think of this as aneven longer pre-season for an intriguing 2018/19 assault....Melbourne City have managed to stay in touch with the leaders but continue todisappoint for all the dollars spent. Roar and Glory are living up to downbeat pre-seasonexpectations and the less said about Wellington Phoenix the better – but their plight issimply unsustainable. At least though it allows fans of other sides to see plenty ofgoals scored... Ignore the chaos off-field and there’s much to love about our local game.

Tales from the All-Time Great Baseball Writers: A Book of Revelations

Wasn't Born When We Were Sh!t

by The Carefree Casual

“13th July 2018 Antonio Conte is finally relieved of his duties as Chelsea First Team coach, after a long drawn out process of dismissal. The Premier League and FA Cup winner is replaced by former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.” Little was it known at the time that this would be the start of a whirlwind campaign for Chelsea Football Club as a whole, in the 18/19 season. This term would see us reach some highs, but also very deep lows under the tutelage of the chain-smoking Italian. Along with all the problems on the pitch, blues supporters would experience their fair share of drama in the stands. Numerous accusations of racism and anti-Semitism circulated the media, for most of the year. This book is one fans first-hand experience of all the goings on, during this campaign. A story told from an honest perspective, to set a number of so called facts straight. This re-telling sheds a lot of light on what it is like to support Chelsea in the 21st Century. Born and raised supporting the side from West London during a prosperous period, experiencing the glory but also suffering numerous frustrating events at the same time. It brings to the forefront the changes that have happened in football over the last decade, and some not necessarily being for the better. Providing proof that once and for all that football is all about money, and the negative effects of social media on the game. It is not all doom and gloom however; you can see first-hand the companionship that comes from the sport. How friendships have been maintained, and new ones made, through the mutual love of the game. Much like the season it is set against, ‘Wasn’t Born When We Were Sh!t’ is a roller-coaster ride of events.
