Creating A Foundation for Training In the Martial Arts: The Making of a Superior Person

When considering training in martial arts, its advantageous to increase your satisfaction with your experience with the physical training will be required to complete to acquire a little academic martial arts education also to help balance your new knowledge with the physical training. To do this the author has written Creating A Foundation For Training In The Martial Arts to provide a person do just a little research about martial arts. IN almost all systems, the only information that will be provided in training will be 100% related to the physical training and their is so much or more information to martial arts than just the physical kick-punch aspects. It is hoped by the author that by acquiring an introductory academic understanding of the dynamics in a martial arts system, the physical training experience will be one that will increase a student or Instructors desire to remain training much longer. The Martial Arts community has an extremely high drop out rate and many schools work very hard to help new students acquire a love for the training as quickly as possible, however, the drop out rate remains excessively high for such an important endeavor. Martial arts can be defined as any of the traditional systems of Oriental self-defense or combat that utilize a person's physical skill and coordination with and.or without weapons, these include Tang Soo Do, Karate, Aikido, Judo, or Taekwodo that is often practiced as a sport. Martial arts are often depicted as high contact, high intensity activities. While there are certain systems of martial arts that do use sparring and high-contact, many do not. Martial arts are ranked as a moderate-dangerous sport for individuals. It is an activity that can be considered for its many benefits beyond building physical and emotional strength, muscle tone, flexibility and general health. The practice of martial arts also builds emotional health. Some of the improvements that come from practicing any of the martial arts are: self-worth, self-value, self-esteem, self-confidence, humility, humbleness, self-control, responsibility, respect and respect for others. It is important for anyone considering training in martial arts to become educated about the practice and to do their research to find a the style they value and then a qualified instructor and a program that is safe and right for their needs. Always consult with your physician, physical or therapist before beginning any physical activity or exercise program that is as potentially demanding as training in the martial arts. There are many individuals in the community who find strength, health and success in a martial arts program. The author recommends creating a list of questions to consider asking before enrolling in a martial arts program and answers provided by the author about programs and what you might expect or want to hear when considering enrolling an individual n a martial arts program. This book also includes both a large bibliography and a list of suggested reading related to the learning of and the many benefits to meditation and the spiritual aspects of the training that the first Shaolin monks received many centuries ago when martial arts training was used as a preventative medicine program. It is hoped by the author that both the beginner student and the beginning Instructor may benefit from learning from this material presented..
