Western Spiritualist Philosophical System

by Daniel Aço

Daniel Aço is a Brazilian spiritualist thinker and writer. He was born in 1976 and lives in Porto Alegre.

During a long time, the author defined himself as a free thinker. Today, not giving up such solid definition destined to good Western thinkers, the author prefers to be a thinker with freedom.

In English language, Daniel Aço means Daniel Steel. The Providence wanted that a man with the steel strength was able to expose the truths said in this book, which, in its first month, deserved a translation into Spanish and into English.

This book is about a unique work, because it involves a combination and a critic interpretation about the Western Philosophy at light of the spiritual scholars and the spirituality in general. Daniel Aço is the first to do it, and does it with the mastery owned by him, fighting for the philosophical freedom of the goodwill humans, before the presumptuous academic world and the famous philosophical systems.

This work must mean to Philosophy and Spirituality the same that "Chariots of the Gods?” by Erich von Däniken, means to Ufology. As Däniken, Daniel Aço undertook in this book, without abandoning the past, a solid metaphysical index for the spiritual studies in the centuries to come. As Däniken, Daniel Aço will also be, eventually, misunderstood and mocked. However, his seed was already planted. And his light, projected.

However the author says that he doesn't mind if his work is original, or if it will sell two or twenty million copies, the work is innovative, even because exposes the alleged superiority of the Western philosophers and inserts the Spiritist Doctrine in the Western knowledge.

Its language is literary and there is a little bit of everything in its pages: literature, religion, psychology, metaphysics, moral, spirituality, philosophy, politics, sociology, ufology, science, causality, relativity, energy, mediumship, freedom, karma, reincarnation, satire, and much more. Finally, being a little biographic, the book can be a self-help book, for the person who reads it.

Nobody finishes reading this book as an untouchable being, not even its antagonists. Regarding them, by the way, the author doesn't really care – also because he will sell, alone, more copies than all these antagonists together.

HASTA BRATA: Leadership Principles of Ancient Java (Indonesian Wisdom Series Book 3)

by Ahmad Dzikran

Javaneses classic wisdom teachings about leadership based on cosmic consciousness
that every celestials and nature things contains valuable leadership lessons, such as
the sun, stars, earth, wind, sea, fire and many more.

Those nature elements symbolize noble characters that should be imitated by all leaders in this world. For example, Star (Kartika) is a symbol of calmness, commitment, and consistency.

Kartika means star; even though at night the stars in the sky seem very small, in reality their actual size is many times bigger than what we can perceive with our eyes when looking at it from the earth. So we should not so easily be mislead by what our eyes are trying to make us believe. Likewise, a leader should not feel intimidated by the first impression he gets. Although he may be aware of his own deficits or incapabilities, yet he should always firmly believe in himself. This optimistic attitude will enable him to overcome any obstacle he faces in life.

Thus, the Asta Brata teaching tells Man how to cultivate cosmic awareness. In this way, then, the entire universe and everything that resides within it, will become useful means for contemplation of one’s earthly existence. Then the higher meaning and purpose of life will become evident to him, which ultimately will lead him to the realization of liberation (Sanskrit: moksa).

Mysteries of the Bible

by Kenneth Edward Barnes

In this book of about 55,000 words, I will try to reveal some startling verses of Scripture that will shed light on some mysteries that have been hidden for centuries.
In this book, I will discuss topics such as: Is the Lord going to physically return to the earth and if so, how and when? What happens when you die? Who are the two witnesses the Bible mentions and where are they today? Who is the Antichrist? Did Jesus mean what He said in the Gospels? He said in one Scripture, “If you have the faith as a grain of mustard seed you can say unto this mountain be removed and it will obey you,” yet no one has ever even come close to doing this. Did He lie? If not, what did He mean? What is God’s name? When was Christ born? When did Christ die and when was He resurrected, plus several other topics that may surprise you like: What is the Mark of the Beast. When will the Battle of Armageddon take place? The Bible tells many of these mysteries if you know where to look.
Why am I doing this and why am I wanting to do it? The Bible says in II Timothy 2:15, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
I am in my latter years and none of us knows how many days we have left on this earth. I wanted to write this before I leave this life so others might come to know and understand what I have searched for my entire life. The Lord said, “Lay up your treasures in heaven”, Matthew 6:20. In addition, in Matthew 19:21, Christ told the rich young ruler to give his possessions to the poor and he would have treasure in heaven. This book and some of my others, is my work that I am laying up in heaven. I am using my talent of writing to share what I have learned from God’s word so that it might help others and increase their faith. “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God,” Romans 10:17. If my writing helps you then you, too, can use my words to tell and share with others to help them. This way you can share in the work I do and my work will be part of your works and you will be rewarded by the Lord when He returns.
I am also writing this book to give insight into some of the hidden mysteries of the Bible. Many today say they want to know God and have a closer walk with Him, but is this true? I will challenge you to follow Him and not man.
I am going to try to explain some of the things that I‘ve discovered over the years in studying the Scriptures. I have been seeking for the truth since I was a teenager of fourteen (which was in 1965). Christ says in His word, “Seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be open unto you.” If you truly look for the truth, you can find it. You must listen to what the Word says, however, and not to any man, a church or even a world leader. “If you question something that I have written, look for yourselves. Christ is the truth, so you cannot go wrong in following Him. Therefore, do not read this book unless you have an open heart and really want to know the truth.
In my book “Christ: His Words, His Life” I have much of this at the end in my commentary called “Food For Thought”. If you wish to read the four Gospels woven into one, I suggest you read this one. It is written to make it easier to read and understand and is written like any other novel. All royalties from the book “Christ: His words, His Life” will go to “Feed the Children” organization. Thank you.

Goliath's Mother: and other hilarious stories that you will not find in the Bible

by David Mandel

Mandel recreates with wonderful humor the stories and characters of the Bible as seen through the eyes of the 21st Century reader. The author has the gift of an exquisite irony. The book, although irreverent, basically follows the original biblical version. The author humanizes the characters and tells the events with the humor that characterizes his style. It includes God's monologue about the Creation, Joseph as the first psychoanalyst, Queen Esther's diaries, newspaper headlines at the time of Moses, interviews with Goliath's mother and Samson's parents, a conference by the prophet Jeremiah, and much more.

Salaah of Women in the Light of the Sunnah

by Madrasah Taleemuddeen South Africa, Mufti Zakaria Makada

In every era there were specialists in the knowledge of Deen. Even in the time of the Sahaabah (R.A.), there were many Sahaabah (R.A.) who issued fatwas. According to Haafiz Ibnul Qayyim Rahimullah, there were over one undred and thirty such Sahaabah (R.A.).

In recent times, there is a movement pushing the masses to always ask for the proof and not blindly follow anyone. Beautiful slogans such as “follow only the Qur’aan and Sunnah” are used to whip up the sentiments of people. While the slogan is perfect, the object is to drive people away from “taqleed”(following) of one of the four Imaams of Fiqh, viz. Imaam Abu Hanifa, Imaam Maalik, Imaam Shaafi’ee and Imaam Ahmad bin Hambal Rahimullah.

We hope with the help of Allah Ta'ala that this treatise will prove beneficial in establishing that every aspect of the salaah as explained by these Imaams conformed to the Sunnah. Apart from explaining the importance of salaah as well as the entire method of the salaah of a female proven from the Ahaadith, we will also discuss certain pertinent masaail regarding salaah which the Salafis make an issue of (e.g. women attending congregational salaah, their salaah being identical to the salaah of men, etc.). It should be noted that when explaining the method of salaah of women, we have sufficed on presenting authentic Ahaadith with providing their sources from the respective compilations. We have also explained the position and status of the Ahaadith as reported from the respective Imaams of Hadith.

We make dua that Allah Ta’ala accept this effort and make it a means of the Ummah being guided towards the path of the Sunnah.

Praying With the Saints: Volumes 1-5

by Clinton LeFort

This set of previous books contains several smaller books on prayer, which treats of various topics related to interior prayer.

Volume One: A Retreat With St. Ignatius of Loyola
Many times it is difficult to capture in words WHAT THE HEART Seeks to Express. Yes, it is such when friends speak to one another. How much more difficult is it to capture the 'WORDS' of the heart, that are many times layered with worldliness accumulated over years, yet desiring to soar aloft on the wings of faith. The biblical authors and prophets, testified by the Son of God Himself, says that the heart is a difficult instrument to tune. When we come to face God alone in prayer we face the greatest challenge of our lives, since God will reveal to us the truth about ourself, our world and his plan for our lives. At each moment of the encounter we can choose to move forward to his calling or return to the step we’ve left behind.
Volume Two: Searching For God
One of the most important principles we use in our spiritual lives is our search for God. This consideration is important, since it allows us to monitor how and when we are searching for God. It gives us an opportunity to gain self-understanding or as the masters of the spiritual life have termed it, self-knowledge. Consider you are Jesus about to embark upon your public ministry and consider his words to the Apostles “my food and my drink are to do the will of him who sent me.” As we live our spiritual lives day by day, the principle of searching for God looms larger and larger in our lives. Searching for God takes on many meanings over time. At the beginning of our spiritual life, we may be concerned with gaining knowledge of God while later in our spiritual life we may turn our attention to finding God in creation, in persons and in a particular aspect of his person.
Volume Three: Participation or Sharing in the Divine Nature
In St. Peter’s opening letter to the Christians of the first century St. Peter encourages his Christian brothers and sisters to remain faithful to the great and powerful gifts bestowed upon them thru the life of Jesus Christ. St. Peter says that thru the use of the gifts of eternal life and devotion to God, thru Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, they will come to “share in the divine nature.” (2 Peter 1:4) In this group of essays, we will look at the various ways in which this teaching of St. Peter can be interpreted as well as how the other Gospel writers, as well as St. Paul, teach the same message in their writings of the New Testament.
Volume Four: In Prayer
When speaking of the spiritual senses we are taking up a long tradition of spiritual writers in the Catholic Church, who frequently have wrote about these topics from their own experience or the experience of spiritual writers or directors whose spiritual athletes under their direction and care communicated these experiences to them for the sake of staying under the guidance of a prudent director.
Among others who have spoken in about the spiritual senses are the following: St. Teresa of Avila, St. Thomas Aquinas, Venerable Louis DuPont, St. Augustine, St. Bonaventure, Hugh of St. Victor, St. John of the Cross, Phillip of the Trinity, Blessed Angela of Foligno, St. Gertrude, Gerson, Fr. Surin, Fr. Nouet, St. Margaret Mary, and Cassian.
Volume Five: Divine Indwelling
What first comes to mind when we think of the divine indwelling? When I was a teenager, I used to ask myself the same question. I had already known that God had a plan for me and that I had a Guardian Angel. These truths were part of the training I received as a young Catholic teenager growing up in a small Southwest Louisiana town called Lake Arthur, La. There were only 3000 people in my entire hometown and that seemed to be quite a few people to me then.

Why I Abandoned the Hebrew Israelite Religion: A Memoir/Self-Help Guide

by Hannah Spivey

In this belief-shattering memoir, Hannah D. Spivey speaks about life as a Hebrew Israelite woman, and how much misogyny in said community impacted her life and destroyed the self-esteem of some Hebrew Israelite women. Hannah points out the contradictions, hate, examples of misogyny, ridicule, and self-absorption in the Hebrew Israelite community and highlights how similar the belief system is to Christianity. With her no-holds barred approach, Hannah expounds on how damaging religion has been to the black community and explains how it affected her in a negative way, until she found her way out of the Hebrew Israelite religion. This is one of Hannah D. Spivey's most controversial works yet; she shows no empathy for lack of logic or for misogyny throughout her book, in hopes that people will question their own worth and logic when it comes down to religious beliefs.

The Leader in You: Twenty Lessons Designed to Release the Christian Leader in Your Child

by Mark J Musser

HELP YOUR CHILDREN LEAD THE NEXT GENERATION, NOT FOLLOW IT!While interviewing a 104 year-old woman, a reporter asked, "What do you think is the best thing about being over 100?"Her quick reply? "No peer pressure."For the rest of us, however, peer pressure is a very real thing. For children and teens, it is most definitely a powerful force that exerts a strong gravitational pull on their young lives. Peer pressure will influence their hair-style, their clothing choices, what kind of shoes they want, the shows they watch, the language they use, the attitudes they exude, the beliefs and values they hold, and much more. The Kaiser Foundation found that almost half of adolescents between the ages of 12-18 feel pressured into having sex. This leads to the inevitable. Three million teens are infected by STDs every year. Meanwhile, 9% of fourteen year-olds, 18% of 15-17 year-olds, and 22% of 18-19 year-olds get pregnant every year. When it comes to drugs, 30% of teens report being offered drugs in middle school and high school. Meanwhile, in recent years, the percentage of eighth graders who used marijuana doubled from one in ten to one in five. Sadly, in regards to smoking and drinking, the statistics are no better. 3.1 million American teens smoke, while 22.2% have their first alcoholic beverage before the age of thirteen. On average, one teen will die every three hours in an alcohol related accident. What causes our cute and cuddly kids to become part of these statistics? What transforms childhood innocence into teenage trouble? What changes our six year-old who holds our hand crossing the street into a sixteen year-old who binge drinks and engages in risky sexual behavior? While there is more than one reason for the statistics mentioned above, one of the main reasons is that parents are not teaching their children to consistently stand for truth, constantly fight for what's right, or continually make decisions based on biblical principles. Yet, children trained to be leaders do not follow the crowd. The crowd follows them. Children trained to be leaders are thermostats that set the room's temperature not thermometers that simply reflect the room's temperature. And children trained to be leaders frequently impact those around them instead of being frequently impacted upon. The Bible reminds us that our children are gifts from the Lord. We are charged to care for and protect these precious gifts. It is not enough to make sure our kids eat balanced meals, do their homework, get exercise, and learn to say "please" and "thank you." We must teach them to be leaders. We must enable them direct the culture not be directed by the culture. We must train them to stand for truth and justice, not silently stand down in the face of opposition. We must do this and so much more.Let The Leader in You be one tool to help you do just that.

POLYAMORY: To Love More Than One

by Dr. Julia Sanders

Polyamory – The Love Of More Than OneMost people think that their only options are to find monogamous love or spend their life alone forever, but the most basic fact about humanity is that we're all different and there are so many different ways to find love and happiness. Polyamory is one of those options, and it can come in many different forms. The world polyamory comes from a combination of the Greek world poly, which means many or several, and the Latin word amor, which means love. In the simplest terms, it is the desire or the practice of sharing intimate relationship with two or more partners, where all of the partners are aware of all of the other partners. This makes it different than cheating, because all of the partners involved remain aware of everything that might affect their dynamic. Everything that happens within the dynamic is ethical, consensual, and responsible. Just because you are open to multiple partners, does not mean that it's open season and you can do whatever you want, with whomever you want. Full communication is essential in a functioning, healthy polyamorous relationship. This book looks at polyamory, polygamy and other forms of multiple partner relationships.

What C.S. Lewis Achieved

by Philip Wik

This essay of about eleven thousand words is a non-fiction companion to my fan fiction novel Susan of Narnia. C.S. Lewis has been an intellectual sparing partner and a model for my writing. I wrote the following reflections on his thought to better understand the Problem of Susan and on others topics that Lewis explored. Although I disagree with some of Lewis ideas and although my Susan story differs from Lewis’ vision, I must declare my gratitude and my admiration for Lewis as a person and as an influence on my life.

7 ready-to-use Bible lessons on the book of Daniel.
Each Bible lesson consists of 20 or so ready-to-use questions that get groups talking. These questions make small group Bible study a joy. If you can read 20 questions, you can lead a Bible Study.

Answers are provided in the form of quotes from respected authors such as John Piper, Max Lucado and Beth Moore.

These lessons will save you time as well as provide deep insights from some of the great writers and thinkers from today and generations past. I also include quotes from the same commentaries that your pastor uses in sermon preparation.

Ultimately, the goal is to create conversations that change lives.

Understanding and Overcoming Temptation: Protect Yourself from Temptation’s Traps

by Dr. Daniel Morris

Do you want to do well in your career? You must prepare and work. Do you want to be good at a sport? You must be disciplined and train. Do you want to be a good cook? You must learn and practice.

What about avoiding and resisting temptation? Temptation ruins. Temptation damages. Temptation even kills. Like all achievements, the cost of overcoming temptation and avoiding its consequences includes learning to understand when and how it happens and then what to do to prevent it or escape it.

This book is a good place for you and your family to start learning and preparing yourselves for the battles with this destructive force.

Understanding and Overcoming Temptation
• Answers to "why did I do that again?"
• The good and bad of natural curiosity.
• Things are going comfortably. Danger!
• Do you know when your mind and feelings are attacked?
• You can overcome. You are not alone.

About the Author
Dr. Morris graduated from Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College and Anchor Theological Seminary. He received his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. Since 1978, he and his wife, Debbie, have served as missionaries in Chiapas, Mexico.
He presently pastors the Baptist church he founded in Tuxtla Gutiérrez and oversees several other churches, missions, and a Christian school. Much of his time is dedicated to training Hispanic pastors and counseling.

This book by Dr. Daniel Morris is a tremendous writing, dealing with temptation and how to overcome it. The research is very thorough and includes a practical description of temptation and its effect on the believer. I recommend this book not only for those overcome with temptations, but also as a tool in helping someone else who is dealing with these issues. He clearly explains how Satan uses temptation to make us fall. What I like the most is the fact that he uses God’s Word, the Bible, as the basis for his explanation of temptation and the solution for overcoming it.
Jonathan Konnerup - Missions Director BBFI

I appreciate Dan Morris' book on this needful topic for several reasons, not the least of which is the author's own decades of faithfulness in the Lord's work. Those serving on the front lines of spiritual battle – as this author has done as a missionary for over a quarter of a century – know firsthand the onslaught of Satan and the need for biblical strategies to live in victory. In this book, you will find a detailed, thorough study of both.
Dr. Paul Chappell - Sr. Pastor Lancaster Baptist Church, President West Coast Baptist College

From early college days forty years ago, I have known Dr. Daniel Morris. He was a very conscientious student, well focused in life. During the past forty years, he has been extremely dedicated, and God has given him many successful ministries.
Dr. Morris writes from his knowledge of the Word of God and his experience in teaching. You will be blessed, inspired, and determined to do a greater work for the Lord as you read his writings.
