A Thread of Time: Firesetter, Book 1

by J. Naomi Ay

It was clear to Lance that his father hated him. Why else would he leave everything to Hank, except for that coin? You know, the one with some dude’s head on it, the ancient Euro or whatever it was. Except it wasn’t a Euro according to the pawnbroker. Turns out, it’s an old Imperial Coin from the days of the Great Emperor, and it might be worth a whole lot of dough on the other side of the galaxy, if Lance could somehow manage to take it there.

But, how does a guy, who owes the hospital a lifetime’s worth of earnings, manage to travel across the stars? Turns out, he can do it for free. Not only that, but he can get three squares a day, an apartment complete with roommates, and two sets of clothes, albeit in spandex. It’s like prison, but with benefits. It’s SpaceForce.

In the meantime, on the other side of the galaxy, Ailana is stuck next to her hated cousin, Embo in their grandmother’s sewing shop, forever listening to the old woman wax on about her glory days as a Royal Seamstress.

No matter how she tries, Ailana can’t break free of Grandmother and her needling, even after the old woman is dead. However, it will be through her needle and thread, that Ailana gains admittance into the privileged world of the nobility, where fate will introduce her to a man that bears a striking resemblance to the face on Lance’s coin.

King of Ages: A King Arthur Anthology

by Paola K. Amaras

A fresh take on a legendary tale, this anthology of thirteen short stories is a testament to just how eternal and timeless the story of King Arthur truly is.

One recurring aspect of Arthurian literature is the notion that he will one day return as a messiah to save his people. Another hallmark of the King Arthur legend is that Merlin—wizard, prophet, and Arthur’s most trusted advisor—lives backwards through time. What if Merlin was actually advising multiple reincarnations of King Arthur during various points, and places, in time and history? And what if this all began at the end of time?

King of Ages is an anthology like no other, showcasing stories that re-imagine King Arthur at several points in history, from the end of days all the way to the beginning of mankind.

Featuring thirteen all-new stories by

Paola K. Amaras • Patrick S. Baker • Josh Brown • Dale W. Glaser • Doug Goodman • Joanna Michal Hoyt • Philip Kuan • David W. Landrum • P. Andrew Miller • Mike Morgan • Alex Ness • C.A. Rowland • David Wiley

by D.P. Oberon

Executive. Mother. Murderer. Heroine.

Saradi's world is overthrown when her brother is sent to war. Struggling to juggle family life and her responsibilities as an executive, Saradi's life implodes.

Saradi, close to losing everything, decides to join the military to be a part of a mission that could save the human race from extinction and rescue her brother at the same time.

Interview with the Author

Q - So, what makes the Earth 340K series special?

A- I set out to write stories with multidimensional characters, having been inspired by the writers such as George RR Martin and Stephen King. I also wanted to create a book that had pace, was set in a richly detailed world, and was a blast to read from start to end.

The Earth 340K books are a great mix of science fiction genres: military, dystopian, thriller, space exploration, adventure, and yes there’s even a bit of romance. I love to keep things interesting.

Overall, the Earth 340K series is designed to keep you turning the pages - and I've made sure there's never a dull moment.

Q - What order should I read the Earth 340K books in?

A - I’ve written each novel as a standalone. You can read the books in any order, and all the story threads will tie up nicely by the time you're finished. If you do want to read them in order, I'd suggest the following sequence:

- Executive

- Scientist

- Athlete

- Nun

- Resurrectionist

- Bloodhound

- Nurse

Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?

A - Because the Earth 340K series is a character centric, in depth, and dark novel that takes no prisoners. I wrote it because I wanted to read something that moved me but also had pace.

Q - Can readers get the whole series in one go?
A – In the future!

And thanks for reading!

Star-crossed to Star Dust

by Steven Wheelock

The novel's cover image depicts bikini-clad Padparadscha playfully flexing her muscles on her wedding night. While orthodons and humans interbreed, a cruel star-civilization plots to render orthodons and humans extinct. It was a backwater era of interstellar warfare funded by fiat money essentially created out of thin air.The main character would be a man named Mole, who would find himself marooned on war-destroyed planet Earth, amongst other adventures. An excerpt from this satiric, horror-comedy space opera novel:"Love is built upon a foundation of trust; I remember you saying that earlier.""'Trust' is the operative word," Mole agreed. "Now where were we?""Talking about women.""Right ... women," Mole said stalling for time. Inwardly, he was disgusted with the Human Empire for having taught Victor math and engineering skills, and little else, save selected bits of history; and in spite of his disgust with humanity, said, "Most women desire to love thy neighbor, live honorable lives ... stuff like that there.""And men?" Victor prodded."Yes, of course. The men. Let us not forget the men." It was now darker inside the ship, rendering Victor color-blind, though he could still see considerably more than the one who was closer to the starlit airlock. "Most men," Mole's voice echoed through the old spacecraft, "desire to love thy neighbor, live honorable lives, love their women, and for the most part, do good deeds before their souls depart this material plane. Unfortunately, there's a small percentage of men who desire to rule others with an iron fist. And that's why human history is written in blood. All in all, I'd have to say women are slightly better than men.""Why's that?"Mole answered, "Women aren't generally known for starting wars, and for turning once-beautiful planets like this one into vast wastelands; besides, it was men who pushed the buttons and unleashed nuclear war on this world. For that reason alone I'm inclined to believe women are better than men. But it's still a very close call; after all, male or female it's still the same species."

Argus Wade was born into the Ministry, an archaic and barbaric religion that's taken ahold of the Republic. He knew from an early age that he was different from the other students who learned there: the threat of death - or worse - loomed over him because of his special gifts. When he tries to protect his daughter from this fate by hiding her from the Ministry, he finds out that all he's managed to do is make things worse. He's running out of options and growing more desperate by the day.Meanwhile, the galaxy is facing a new conflict in the outer reaches: a rebellion is forming to tear down the Republic, led by a charismatic upstart named Darius Gray. Battle lines are being drawn and everyone is choosing sides. But, they are all going to find out that the cost of war is higher than anyone could have anticipated...
