WARSEC 1: Regulation (2094-2095): The WARSEC Interstellar Series Book 1

by Ash Gawain

2094. The successful testing of the Alcubierre metric makes faster-than-light travel possible. For Michael Vahlroos, CEO of V-Space, this is the start of a new era. Not only will his company be able to sell new spaceships, but it will also spearhead the exploitation of extraterrestrial resources, a must to ensure welfare to our overpopulated earth. Private corporations are the right players to boldly do what no-one has done before. For UN diplomat Ralf Åhman, however, the added value of private corporations in space is overrated. Has not the failure of the Martian colony been caused by a greedy entrepreneur, leaving the last Martian survivor on her own? Space has to be better regulated. REGULATION (2094-2095) is the first book of the WARSEC series, a race to the stars between private corporations and the United Nations organization. It is a grounded space odyssey for readers interested in geopolitics, science, and the future of mankind.More about the WARSEC series on ashgawain.comWith 64,100 words and 11 pictures, REGULATION (2094-2095) is typically read in 4 to 7 hours depending on your reading speed.Below a short overview of the table of content:Introduction 01: The Martian Colony (15 Sept 2094)02: The Admiral In Civilian Clothes (16 Sept 2094)03: V Like Vahlroos (16 Sept 2094)04: A Gifted Little Drug Dealer (16 Sept 2094)05: The Girl Who Wanted To Be Batman (16 Sept 2094)06: Diplomat Of Outer Space Affairs (16 Sept 2094)07: Tintin From Congo (17 Sept 2094)08: The Party Is On (17 Sept 2094)09: The First Warping Of Spacetime (17 Sept 2094)10: The 149th Session of The UN General Assembly (Sept 2094)11: Discovering A New Planet (Oct 2094)12: The Minority Project (Oct 2094)13: The Drafting Of International Treaties (Oct-Dec 2094)14: The Vienna Treaties Of 8 December 209415: Family Business (Dec 2094)16: The Only Goal Of The United Nations (Jan 2095)17: UNOOSA Becomes WARSEC (Mar 2095)18: Vodka Diplomacy (Mar 2095)19: Competition Versus Cooperation (April 2095)20: Damage Control (June 2095)21: The United Kingdom Of South Britain (July 2095)22: The European Civil Service (July 2095)23: English Summer (July – August 2095)24: Lethal Mistake (August 2095)25: WARSEC Ventures (August 2095)

The Adrian's Undead Diary Omnibus: Volume One

by Chris Philbrook

Collected here are the first four books of the eight book, bestselling epic Adrian's Undead Diary. The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd, 2010 and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived.Bookie Monster Best series of 2014.Book One: Dark RecollectionsBeheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead. Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and legions of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors. He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom. Pretty successful, all things considered. Of course, his sanity takes a hit as a result. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day." Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named 'Mr. Journal," and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight part epic about a solitary, guilt stricken man that didn't think he deserved to live, but realizes very soon that he survived, and suffered for a reason. Dark Recollections is the first book in the AUD series. It covers Adrian's journal entries from September 21st 2010, to December 1st, 2010. Intermingled with his personal diary entries, book one also contains the short stories Phil's Story, McGreevy's Report, and Soccer Mom. The second edition of the book contains slight revisions to the table of contents, a new foreword by the author, and some editorial revisions.Book Two: Alone No MoreRealizing you have a surviving neighbor after the world is overtaken by the undead isn't always a good thing. Unless that neighbor is the grumpy, armed and retired Green Beret Gilbert Donohue. In that case, finding out you've got a neighbor is a lot like hitting the proverbial jackpot. Adrian's piecemeal life on campus since "That Day" has been a struggle. Retrieving supplies from local neighborhoods filled with the walking dead has been dangerous for him, but he's stayed alive by being a little smarter than the other survivors, and a lot faster than the roaming, hungry zombies that have overtaken his home town, and the world. In Alone No More, the second installment in the smash hit series Adrian's Undead Diary, Adrian's life is poised to become even more complicated and dangerous when some familiar faces find their way to ALPA with some less than friendly folks on their tail. For the first time the breadth of Adrian's Apocalypse widens to reveal the death of one of the oldest cities of mankind in one of the most popular of all the AUD short stories: Jerusalem. Sometimes in the cold of winter, the only thing that can keep you warm is freshly spilled blood. Alone No More is the second entry in the AUD series, and covers Adrian's journal entries from December 3rd 2010 through December 27th 2010. Intermingled with his personal diary entries Alone No More also contains five short stories. One Mistake: The Last Stand of Hall B, Putting a Name to a Face, Exodus, Jerusalem, and The Chief.Book Three: MidnightTap tap tap went the zombie on the bridge...Book Four: The Failed CowardA sinister darkness has finally cast its long shadow across the world, and Adrian Ring now suspects he's at the center of the maelstrom. And he's not alone.

Mother of Wolves (Evalyce Worldshaper Book 1)

by J. Aislynn d'Merricksson

De Sikkari, a world full of magick and wonder and blended technology. Floating skycities, supported by lucavite, soar far above the continents and oceans. It is a world where creatures of myth and legend roam freely. A world fraught with an unknown danger, for the magick binding the Nagali Al'dhumarna in his confinement upon the Isle of Whispers has begun to fail. It is 2013, the Year of the Golden Hart, a year of awakening and change, especially for Kalla kyl’Solidor, a mage of Cryshal Kanlon. Kalla has gone to find a magister, the guardians who serve as protectors and energy sources for their magi. Kalla finds more than she bargained for when the skycity she is visiting comes under attack by fire wyvern, dragon-kin who normally shun humans and keep to themselves. In the aftermath of the battle Kalla and her magister find a wounded wyvern. Rather than allow the creature to be slaughtered, Kalla heals it, learning, in the process, that the wyvern had been drugged and set to attack. A fire-scrying reveals that it wasn’t an isolated event. All across De Sikkari, dragon-kin and other creatures had been enslaved and set against city and skycity alike. The scrying sets Kalla and her magister on a journey which will profoundly change them in ways they could never imagine.

Humankind: Book 1 in the Invasion Day series

by LC Morgans

“The human race will ultimately be responsible for its own demise. It is with great certainty that I alert you of this now, and you heed my warnings. What we have called the ‘benefits culture’ for hundreds of years has caused profound chaos to our world and its economy, and it is damage I fear we will not return from.” President of the USA, Harold Chant, the year 2465.

“We need to find alternative fuels and a cure for overpopulation. But short of a miracle or genocide, I fear it’s too late…” Queen Anastasia of England, the year 2989.

Against all foretelling and scientific proof, humans have ruined their home, Earth. Overpopulation and the misuse of valuable fossil fuels have resulted in the end of the world fast approaching, and many believe it might be too late to stop it.
With that fear very much in mind, in the year 3030, an alien race called the Thrakorian’s stepped in to take charge of the Earth and its inhabitants, but at a price.
Rather than leading by fear, the Thrakorian’s have ensured the loyalty and servitude of the human race through gratitude and a sense of purpose they’d been lacking for generations. But can their savior’s really be as generous as they seem?

Years later, and rebel forces are intent on bringing down their new governing race, and Earth’s new leader atop it. Loyal humans must fight against their own, but to what end, and for whose agenda?

Young Kyra Millan is a girl from the slums with a valuable mind. She’s intent on fighting her way up the social ladders and starting a new life based on her own merit, and will do anything it takes to reach her peak. Kyra also harbors a strange and unusual secret though, and it’s one she holds so precious it consumes her. Before long it becomes clear that all is not what it seems, but when you’re in too deep can you ever come back, and would you even want to?
Kyra must decide, and with everything on the line she’ll have to prove herself if she wants to survive.

Autonomy: Book 2 in the Invasion Day series

by LC Morgans

In the year 3030 an alien race named the Thrakorian’s invaded Earth, and won.Years later, and while King Kronus sits on his throne on high for all to adore and worship, or else refuse and perish, rebels have risen up to challenge his reign. They need to be stopped, but he doesn’t seem to care. He isn’t interested in the planet he’s left his underlings to command, however the entire human race continues to serve him blindly. And yet, there are huge discrepancies the likes of which most humans didn’t care to see. But she saw them. Kyra Millan, probably the most devoted human soldier in Kronus’ cause, but also the one with the most amount of questions.Despite everything she’s done and the ladders she’s climbed, or the friends in high places she has made along the way, Kyra has begun to see through the lies. In one awful meeting, Kronus made her life’s work seem like nothing more than a waste of her time and talents, and then he’d sent her away without another word of explanation. But, Kyra knew she would continue to serve him, for what else did she have without her unwavering loyalty to Kronus and his reign? Now, she has to find a way to balance what she knows and how she feels, however neither he nor any others of his kind seem willing to make it easy on her. Kyra still yearns for her leader’s approval and to keep her place within his regime, so much so she’s determined to fight him on the issue—even if she has to break every rule in the book to prove herself right. With the hope she can get away with defying her alien overlord one more time, she’s determined to try and infiltrate the rebels opposing him, whether he wants her to or not.But there’s something Kyra isn’t prepared for. Because when you get in too deep, sometimes it’s hard to remember what’s real and what’s fake anymore…
