Scared of the Dark.and My Cat!: What To Do When Scared Of The Dark. -For ages 4-8

by Mary Beth Brace

I am confessing. I am scared of the dark.

When I was young you could have found me shaking in my bed with the blankets over my head with enough uncovered for my nose to breath. I would listen for the creaks of the old farm house...and there would be a lot of them...which made me in desperation run to mom and dad's bed, which I usually did.

Dad wasn't too happy about it.

When I became a Christian...accepted Jesus into my heart...things changed. Oh, I was still scared, but I didn't have to run to mom and dad's bed. I had some good things to think about. Besides, after age 8, running to mom and dad were kind of getting embarrassing.

This book, "Scared of the Dark...and the Cat!" is written in rhyme and hopefully you will enjoy my ...

Scary Elephant Meets the Closet Monster

by Michael Delaware

Solomon is a young elephant in a world that seems very scary to him. His fear of shadows, sounds in the night and all sorts of unknown things keeps him frequently covered in goose bumps and trembling with chills run up and down his spine. He sleeps at night with his head under the covers, and his trunk sticking out so he can smell monsters coming.

His general fear of so many usual (and unusual) things makes him the subject of ridicule from other elephant children, and so he lives in his own world of active imagination.

Solomon’s greatest fear is his own bedroom closet at nighttime. This story takes place one evening after a voice in his closet began whispering to him.
Join Solomon the ‘Scary Elephant’ as he embarks on a chilling adventure to find ...

Self Confidence for Teens: How to Improve Self Confidence in Teenagers [self confidence for kids, self esteem for teens (increase self confidence. parenting and teens, confident teen)

by Dan Miller

Self Confidence for TeensHow to Improve Self Confidence in TeenagersConfidence is an integral aspect in the growth and development of teenagers. Teen self-esteem attains its peak at the age of around 15 to 16 years. Depending on how the parents, guardians and the community as a whole handle the teenagers at this point, their confidence level may either plummet or rise. Self-esteem is generally related to how we perceive and feel about ourselves in terms of our abilities and attributes. Contrary to the beliefs of many people, teen confidence is deeply rooted and taps into the pre-teen years. A child who was mistreated and exposed to physical abuse at an early age may easily develop a low self-esteem all throughout his teenage years. At the pre-teen level, the barometer for self-worth focuse...

How to Raise Children for Christ (Updated and Annotated): A Guide for Excellent Christian Parenting

by Andrew Murray

I will put my trust in Him ... Behold I and the children which God has given me – Hebrews 2:13This book is different from most books on raising children. It is a plea for the parents to truly know and walk with God – for them to love God and His Word. In the correct order, focusing first on the parents, Andrew Murray then urges parents to sincerely and consistently love their children and in all tenderness and gentleness teach them as God also teaches us.Children are a most precious gift that we receive from God, and they deserve our very best. Our faithful training will not be lost on our children; this is a promise found over and over again in the Scriptures. If our hearts are right towards God and our children, the world's influence will not impact our children. We can and must exer...

The Roman Catholic Church and Family Planning.: Time for a Change?

by

This short e book book takes up the much discussed issue of the ban on contraception by the Catholic Church. The author argues not from a theological perch, but from a very practical point of view of a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist that the time is ripe for a change in the teaching of his Church on family planning. The authors points are extensively supported by pertinent references. The Roman Catholic Church has always been opposed to the use of artificial methods of contraception. Only the so called Natural Methods of Family Planning (also called the Fertility Awareness Methods) are allowed. The author argues that these natural methods are satisfying and effective under ideal circumstances and when practiced by educated and dedicated couples. However under less than ideal circ...
