Just a Touch of Ginger.

by Darren Hobson

Everyone needs a helping hand to travel this long twisting road called life, not everyone can travel alone, there are too many dangers and disorders out there, it doesn't matter if you are are the weakest female or the strongest male, everyone now knows these are not the correct phrases a female can be strong too and a lot more men are weaker than they seem.A band that vomited onto the music scene in the early 1990s did not want to be boxed or pigeon holed by the establishment they almost ended up destroying themselves with their mind abuse and crude raw tragedy that was played out before the British music press, in all this anarchy and doubt the band survived and the band leader, Ginger in turn saved so many music listeners, they became family it was not just Earth versus The Wildhearts a...

The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Stories (AmazonClassics Edition)

by Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe elevated the gothic story, developed the unreliable narrator, recast psychological terror, and reveled in both the horror and the supernal beauty of death. From Poe’s rich, unrivaled imagination comes a collection of his most masterful works, including “The Black Cat,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and, of course, “The Tell-Tale Heart.” Each story explores morbid themes of grief, greed, fear, and guilt, and together they embody Poe’s grotesque obsessions…even the dread of being buried alive. At the beating heart of each of these eighteen tales—and his tour de force in verse, “The Raven”—is proof that Poe can still surprise, shock, unsettle, and hold readers in thrall after more than a century.AmazonClassics brings you timeless works from the mas...

If Only You Came a Little Early

by Chayan Banerjee

Love makes us do both terrible and wonderful things. It is known for inspiring people to reach the heights of greatness as well as for destroying lives and taking them down an abyss of despair. Love may strengthen us to overcome great adversities in life and sometimes love is the sole adversity that a person may be grieving from. Love is a wavy, undulating ocean of feeling and emotion that has been the topic of creative interest for ages. If love is a religion, then this current anthology of poems tries to define the many faces of love and the strife, the tribulations, the ecstasy and that feeling of emotional fulfillment it brings in the lives of its worshipers....

UNREQUITED AND NOT LOVING IT: POEMS AND LETTERS

by Sammie JENN

When people pour out their feelings, they are reaching out to be heard and to be understood, sometimes, even by themselves....

Walter William Melnyk

by Walter Melnyk

Like all poets, my biography begins with my last poem. Each poem is a new birth, not only of a thought, but also of the poet. And the poet’s life is read and understood backwards from that moment, for the poem does not so much emerge from the life of the poet as it, in fact, creates that life. The hardest thing about poetry is not finding something about which to write, nor finding the words and structure for expression. The hardest thing about being a poet is knowing when not to write; knowing when silence is the profoundest poem. Not actually knowing, I suppose, but learning. That moment of silence is illusive at best; secret, surely; unknowable to most of us. In the year since the publication of Ice on the Ponds I have been encountering signs of this silent path. Some of...

Dipsao I Thirst

by Jerry Francis

In a brief moment within the quiet solitude of prayer, I asked God why the concept St. Paul so eloquently expresses; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20) echoed repeatedly in my mind. The answer was simply “I Thirst”. As sometimes happens in scripture translation to English, the transliterated Greek word “dipsa¬¬¬¬¬¬ō” means the state of being thirsty. I have come to conclude as Blessed Mother Theresa did, that this striking thought is a prayer of an endless two-way thirst of both giving and receiving love, manifesting as both human and divine. All Jesus asks, is to allow his presenc¬e to enter and change us as he offers a sip from his endless well of love, satiating our thirst, by loving as he did.

This quest for love’s thirst le...

The Poetry, Prose and Quotes of JMS and Other Writers

by Jimmy Boom Semtex

The poetry, prose, quotes and writing here is from a notepad I bought second hand an at animal charity open day at Millstream Animal Centre. I was very surprised to find this collection and at the quality of the work. JMS has an excellent talent and unconditional love for her cat(s) and the other writers are equally memorable. As a writer myself, I had to type this up and edit it and release it to the world. The poetry is unique, as is this collection which was found by chance. I wonder who JMS was?...
